I've been doing this for 25 years And I still care as much as I did on day one
I'm Nikki Sorfozo, a permanent makeup artist, skin specialist, and aesthetics practitioner based at The Skin Clinic in Mapperley, Nottingham.
I qualified in 1999. Before social media.
Before aesthetics was everywhere.
I started in beauty at a time when you built a client base by sitting in a room at the back of a hair salon and hoping someone walked past. You had 10 minutes while you were doing someone's brows to make enough of an impression that they'd come back. Word of mouth was everything.
I learned how to make people feel at ease. How to listen properly. How to look at someone's face and understand what they actually needed, not just what they asked for. Those instincts were built in rooms where nobody was watching and nothing was photographed. They're the same instincts I bring to every client I see today.
I moved to the UK from Hungary in 2007
I BUILT MY CAREER FROM SCRATCH.. AGAIN.
Starting over in a new country, in a new language, in an industry built entirely on trust and personal recommendation. It wasn't easy but I had one thing that doesn't change regardless of where you are. I was good at my job and I genuinely cared about the people in front of me.
I worked for aesthetic clinics. I built a client base. I earned the trust of women who became clients for years, some for over a decade. And I kept adding to what I could offer. I qualified in permanent makeup in 2016 and in aesthetics in 2024. All because I wanted to be able to offer the women I work with everything they needed in one place, from one person they could trust completely.
In 2025, a hand injury meant I had to stop.
Fifteen regular clients gone overnight. I had spent 25 years building something and in a matter of weeks it felt like it was unravelling. I didn't stop though. I rebuilt my client base, moved to a new clinic, and kept going. I'm still here.
That experience changed how I think about what I do. I understand what it means to have something taken from you and have to find your way back to yourself. I understand the gap between how you feel on the inside and what you're able to show on the outside. I think my clients feel that, even if they can't name it.

Other beauty professionals come to me to learn
Two days a week I teach beauty at a training academy. The students I work with are at the start of their careers, learning the foundations that will define how they work for the rest of their professional lives. I teach them properly. The technique, the theory, and the clinical reasoning behind every decision.
Teaching at this level means your knowledge has to be airtight. You can't bluff a room full of students asking difficult questions. You have to know your subject thoroughly enough to explain it simply and that standard keeps you sharp in a way that nothing else does.
Over 1,650 beauty professionals have trained under me. When I tell you I know what I'm talking about, that number is part of why.
A note from Nikki
I am not a salesperson. I never have been and I never will be. If I don't think a treatment is right for you, if I think it won't make a meaningful difference, if I think something else would serve you better, or if I think you simply don't need anything yet, I will tell you that. Directly and kindly.
I've lost appointments that way. I've kept clients for years because of it.
The women who come to me are not looking for someone to tell them what they want to hear. They're looking for someone they can trust with their face. Someone who will look at them properly, listen to what they actually want, and give them an honest answer. That is what I do.
Ready to meet me?
The best way to know if we're the right fit is to come and have a conversation.
